How Long Do Bitcoin and USDT Transactions Take?
Confirmation times explained for Bitcoin, USDT on TRON and Ethereum — and why your payment may be waiting.
· 1 min read

A crypto payment is final once the network has added it to a block and enough further blocks (confirmations) follow it. How long that takes depends on the blockchain and the fee you paid.
Typical times
| Network | New block about every | Typical wait |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 10 minutes | 10–60 minutes, longer when busy |
| TRON (USDT TRC20) | 3 seconds | Usually 1–3 minutes |
| Ethereum (USDT ERC20, ETH) | 12 seconds | Usually a few minutes |
Why a transfer can be slow
- Low fee on Bitcoin: miners pick higher-fee transactions first when the network is busy.
- Exchange processing: many exchanges review withdrawals before broadcasting them, which can add minutes or hours.
- Wrong network or address: the transfer may have gone to another chain — check the TXID on the explorer.
Tips for fast payments
- Use USDT on TRC20 for small amounts — fast and cheap.
- On Bitcoin, use the wallet's recommended (not minimum) fee.
- Submit your TXID to the merchant right after sending.
